This year as in the past three, we were asked if we would like to have a stand at The Festival. Of course we replied in the affirmative as Ruth our Membership Secretary and John Winchester our GMP Trainer are on the organising committee. So this is not just a request but an order!
The day seemed to be unable to make up its mind up what to do and heavy rain was forecast for later that day. All of us kept looking up at the heavens during the day and hoping the day would go ok for all at the festival. Mark kept dialling a special number on his phone and pronouncing "Its Coming"  but luckily it did not. Perhaps we should have put a bet on with him?
The reason that Mark was getting a little anxious was that he was also covering the "Starlight Walk " at Watford later that evening and into the night with five other SERV members, and they certainly did get rained on!!
So Back to the plot, thanks to Roger the ( "I never turn up to anything")  Elvin for organising the event for us,what would we do without him? He asked for a good turn out and again we got one with eight members in total turning up by early afternoon. Must have been the threat of free tea and bickies. We raised £88.00 from the day but had two positive enquires, for a controller and one for a rider, also we had some very worthwhile conversation with various visitors to the stand.
Thanks go to John Dean, Alan Wilkinson, Andy Woodham, Mark Jenkins, Alan Warner, Adrian Vaughan, Ian Hunt for their support and showing the SERV flag.
Next M/C show is at  OFFLEY 14th July when the official handover of the Honda Deauville will take place. Have a ride and come and visit us on the stand for a tea, coffee, biscuits and a commemorative photo of the event.
Best Regards
