Recently retired Mayor of Welwyn Hatfield and very good friend of SERV H&B, Kim Langley and myself, joined forces on Thursday just gone, to take along hubby Neil's very kind donation of his hand painted jacket, last seen @ the Predator's Bike Naming Ceremony of our Liveried Motorbike in Memory of Peter Cox; to Hatfield House, where the Antiques Road Show were camped all day, seeing people who thought they may have some item of value, possibly antique.

We knew Neil's jacket was not antique, it having been bought in 1990 and hand painted by a devoted girlfriend, circa 1992. It depicts an album cover of the band Magnum and the album was called "A Story Teller's Night", but never-the-less it is in fantastic condition, never having been worn since it's painting. We took along the recently purchased album cover too and immediately the resident expert saw the quality and exquisite reproduction on the rear of the jacket, she asked about the history of it. Kim and I managed to relay that information as best we could, albeit Neil knew more, but he was skiving off @ work being shy and all that. The upshot was that with the previous right exposure via many Biker's web sites & Magazines, the expert felt that if 2 people wanting the jacket, came together at the auction, then as a Charity we should put a reserve price of £500 on it with the very real possibility of us realising up to £1,000!!!!

As the enclosed picture show's - expert and auctioneer - Bunny Campione - the glamour lady of the Antiques Road Show - not only valued the jacket for us but actually tried it on for size and also gave us some very good advice about how to auction it to our best advantage!
